Romantic Meals for Two

Seduction Meals. Everyone has one…what's yours?

Everyone should learn to master one meal--a seduction meal, that enchants and captivates that special someone in your life. From simple, sublime dishes to grand gourmet feasts; whatever your style there's a signature dish you can master. Here are some tips when preparing your romantic meal for two:

Planning

Preparing a romantic meal for that special someone in your life should be a creative, stress-free endeavor.  It is the sum of all parts that make for a memorable moment, so pay attention to the details, select a meal that you both will enjoy, do not serve too much alcohol or serve large portions.

Cooking

Dazzle your date with an array of alluring foods and beautifully arranged dishes that will melt hearts with just one look. A Seduction Meal could range from simple to gourmet. Focus on taste using high quality, fresh ingredients and by all means, stay in your "cooking zone". It is best to practice in private or with friends and do not "test" a recipe on the night of your romantic soiree unless you are confident in the kitchen. If you do not cook at all, there is nothing wrong with going to a high-end restaurant or gourmet grocer and buying a selection of gourmet cheese, pates, fresh fruit and prepared foods. Or creating themes such as an Italian Menu or Japanese Menu with quality take-out selections. With this approach your efforts are placed on setting the ambiance, selecting the perfect libation to pair with your meal, and creatively presenting each dish.

Ambiance

While taste is paramount, the overall experience is just as important: the ambiance of the room, the location you select, the time of day, the presentation of your meal, the music played, the drinks served—it all adds up. Anytime you hear someone "oohing and ahhing" over the food you've served and the overall experience is a cherished moment by the recipient…consider that a successful Seduction Meal.

Music

Music plays an integral part of your Seduction Meal experience. Music speaks to the core of our senses. Select music that is sure to inspire a romantic, flirtatious, sensual backdrop for your special time together. Be creative. Mix it up. The right music can definitely put you both "in the mood"--poorly selected tunes could send the wrong message and change the desired effect of the night. Plan a music playlist and prepare this before your Seduction Meal. There is nothing simpler than hitting "play" and letting sultry sounds fill the air for the next few hours.

I love Terry’s advice on making a romantic meal for two! I’ve definitely messed up quite a few romantic meals in the past. My worst was trying to make wasabi-encrusted scallops. After spending a fortune on ingredients at the gourmet shop, the scallops turned out so crunchy, they were barely edible. How embarrassing. Take Terry’s advice and good luck this Valentine’s Day and beyond!
